Koska huomaan aloittavani blogipostauksen aina samalla tavalla, tehdään se tälläkin kertaa tuttuun tapaan; terkkuja ihanasta NYCistä!

Saavuttiin tänne iltapäivästä eikä pudotus NOLAn kesästä ollut onneksi paha, sillä New York otti meidät vastaan lempeällä +17 asteella ja auringonpaisteella! Illasta tosin olisi voinut olla paksumpaakin kerrosta päällä, mutta pohjoismaalaiset veti silti tyytyväisenä nahkatakissa ja karvaliiveissä kun osa jengistä kävelee paksut untuvat päällä ja pipot ja lapaset käsissä. Liioittelua, ehkä?

Greetings from lovely lovely New York!

We arrived here in the afternoon and New York welcomed us with sunshine and +17 degrees. In the evening we could have used little more layers on us, but cause we don't have that much warm clothes on our 23kg luggage's and we're from Scandinavia, we were happily walking with our leather jackets and fur vest's. Some of the people are already wearing really thick feather winter jackets, too much maybe?

Lentomatka sujui leppoisasti ja minä ja NOLA:sta kotoisin oleva arkkitehti jaettiin pähkinät ja keksit sulassa sovussa, niinkuin etelävaltio meitä hyvillä käytöstavoilla opetti tekemään. Tästäkin aiheesta lisää myöhemmällä! /3 hours flight went easily and me and the lady sitting next to me (architect from NOLA) were happily sharing our peanuts and cookies, just like they do in the southern states. Wouldn't happen anywhere else here, or there. 

Me yövytään Room Mate Grace nimisessä hotellissa ja hotelli on mahtavalla sijainnilla, sillä Times Square on about 30 sekunnin kävelymatkan päässä! Vaikka Times Square ei kuulukaan omiin lempparialueisiin, on tästä silti helppo ja nopsa liikkua joka paikkaan. Me jopa haaveiltiin aamulenkistä (kyllä, yksikkömuodossa) Central Parkissa eikä sinnekään ole paha matka ollenkaan reippailla!

We're staying in Room Mate Grace Hotel and the location is just great, Times Square is around 30 sec from the hotel. Even Times Square is not my favorite place in New York, cause it's always so crowded, the location for shorter trip is wonderful cause everything is so close. We even dreamed about morning jog (yes, just one) in Central Park and that wouldn't be impossible to do from here. We'll see!

Alimmassa kuvassa näkymät hotellihuoneen ikkunasta, 15. kerroksesta. Me ei vieläkään Ditten kanssa tajuta olevamme täällä ja on ihan absurdia katsella tätä maisemaa hotellihuoneesta. Ollaan kikateltu, kiljuttu ja pompittu pitkin päivää niin lentokentällä, taksissa ja kaduilla kuin idiootit. Onneksi meitä on kuitenkin kaksi!

Nyt käyn unille ja huomenaamulla selviää, mitä me päästään viikon aikana puuhailemaan! Palaillaan huomenna uusien kuvien ja juttujen kera!

Hotel room view from my room, from 15th floor. We still cannot understand that we really are here and it feels absurd to see that view from my hotel room. We have been giggling, screaming and jumping all the day long in the airport, taxi and on the streets like idiots. Luckily it's two of us doing the same!

Tomorrow morning we will see what will happen during this week. I'll be back with new photos and stories then!
